PROCESS

We offer a safe, effective and proven approach to treatment for the Emerald Ash Borer.

Systemic insecticides offer the most reliable protection against EAB when applied via trunk injection. This process delivers the active ingredient, emamectin benzoate, directly into the tree’s vascular system, ensuring internal distribution and protection.

Emamactin benzoate is recognized as the most effective insecticide for controlling emerald ash borer, providing long-term protection typically lasting two to three years from a single application. Emamactin benzoate must be applied by a licensed professional using specialized injection equipment.

  • Small access points are drilled into the lower trunk at evenly spaced intervals. This allows for controlled insertion of injection units without compromising tree health.

  • The insecticide (emamectin benzoate) is delivered under controlled pressure and is absorbed into the vascular system and distributed throughout the canopy, protecting against EAB larval feeding.

  • Uptake occurs over several minutes to hours, depending on tree size and environmental conditions. Injection sites are sealed to prevent infection and promote wound closure.

  • Emamectin benzoate provides control for 2–3 years from a single application. After which, follow-up treatments ensure continued effectiveness.
